The Arena is Act of War's structured PvP system. You queue into a bracket, get matched by ELO-style rating against players of similar skill, and fight in an isolated instance where the only thing that matters is who's left standing. Win to earn arena points, climb the rating ladder, and unlock titles.
How to Queue
Minimum level: 56. Solo players queue individually. Pre-made groups must match the bracket size exactly. Matchmaking starts at ±100 rating and expands by 50 every 30 seconds until a match is found. Level range is always ±5 levels.
Inside a Match
- Every match is instanced — you fight in a private arena, not a shared room.
- Both teams are fully healed (HP, mana, moves) when the match starts.
- A 10-second countdown runs before combat begins.
- Charmies and pets are teleported in with their masters.
- Kill streaks are tracked for the match.
- Win condition: last team with anyone still alive wins.
Rating & Titles
Each bracket has its own ELO-style rating, starting at 1500. Winners gain rating, losers lose it. Players rated 2400+ use a smaller K-factor (16) so the top of the ladder moves more slowly. Inactivity costs 10 rating per week after 3 weeks idle, floored at 1500.
| Title | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Combatant | 1500 rating |
| Challenger | 1600 rating |
| Rival | 1800 rating |
| Duelist | 2100 rating |
| Gladiator | 2400 rating + 50 wins at that bar |

Mid-level weapons and armor

Anti-Boost Protection
The arena tracks match history to catch win-trading. If the same two teams meet 5+ times in 24 hours with the same team winning every time, or if a team's rating spread exceeds 300, rating gains on wins are reduced by 50%. Honest play only.
